1. ROLE

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to provide support to our
organisation?s regional services team. Depaul is a values-led
organisation working with a number of services throughout Across ROI
and Belfast. The Tenancy Sustainment worker receives internal
referrals from a Depaul Service of recently resettled migrant
households and undertakes post-settlement support with them. The
primary goal is to support households to sustain their tenancies,
settle into their new homes and communities, with focus on
integration, developing strong networks and capacity building.

2. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

* Focus on post-settlement support of Service Users including the
provision of a floating support service once they move out of Direct
Provision to ensure new tenancies are sustained.
* In partnership with service-users assess their post-settlement,
tenancy sustainment and social integration needs and develop &
implement post-Settlement Support Plans. Review the progress.
* To work with all Service Users to develop good rapport and to deal
with difficult or problematic situations in a sensitive manner.
* To employ a case management approach and to liaise with and refer
service-users to appropriate agencies and advice services.
* To develop and maintain robust, effective working relationships
with statutory agencies, relevant NGO?s, local communities/community
services, landlords, and other relevant organisations and to act as an
advocate for Service users.
* To advise Service Users on housing rights and tenant
responsibilities and to assist Service Users in applying for benefits
and grants related to housing.
* At times meeting people in their new homes or accompanying to
appointments in line with Lone Working Procedures.
* To ensure all quality assurance policies and procedures are
adhered to.
* To maintain accurate records and provide statistical information
and reports as required by the Manager.
* To ensure confidentiality and professional boundaries are adhered
to at all times.
* To work within the organisation?s policies and procedures, both
at a local and central level.
* To participate actively in supervisions, team meetings, trainings
as required and relevant to the role.
* To represent Depaul at external meetings, with the direction and
support of the Line Manager.
* To work creatively and exercise initiative to help the service
meet its core objectives and ensure service user?s needs are met.

may be added over time and flexibility to cover for other staff roles
is required from time to time.

3. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

* Social Studies/Case management Accredited Qualification essential
* Minimum 2 years? experience in a key-working/case management
capacity, which included families? essential.
* At least 2 years? experience of collaborative interagency
working essential.
* A Full driving licence and access to vehicle essential.
* At least 2 years regular work on IT systems such as Email, Google
Drive, Excel, Word (essential) and Salesforce (desirable).
* At least 1-year experience of Lone Working and Risk-Assessing and
a working knowledge of Health and Safety considerations in the context
of Lone Working.
* Experience working in the private rented housing sector, such as
liaising with property owners/landlords and letting agents.
* Excellent working knowledge of relevant housing schemes such as
Housing Assistance Payment, Rent Supplement, Local Authority Social
Housing Allocations, Voluntary Housing.
* An understanding of the factors that place households at risk of
homelessness, an ability to recognise the signs and to work
collaboratively with households to mitigate/prevent these.
* Ability utilize Risk Management and Support Toolkits and employ a
client-led Case Management Approach.
* An excellent working knowledge of relevant organisations and
services (statutory and NGOs) and a proven track record of
collaborative interdisciplinary work with same.
* Self-motivated, driven and a commitment to work on own initiative
to deliver a consistently high-quality service.
* Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
* Commitment to strong team working through effective contributions.
* A positive solution-focused outlook to overcome blocks and
barriers.
* An proven track record of strong advocacy on behalf of the service
users.
* An ability to work within the principles of Harm Reduction and Low
Threshold.
